Kenny Yeap-Traditional Weapon

Name: Kenny Yeap Lin Chung
ID:1081101428

My role in this group is the group leader. And as such, I am in charge of doing the compiling and editing as well, as the part of Traditional Weapons. As the editor in the entire group, I am tasked with checking the content for each websites as well, as synchronizing the webpages with the homepage.

Other than that, I am also in charge of finding out and experimenting Flash codes. In this area, I am going to create a slideshow for every member's gallery in the entire project.

References taken here so far were merely from Wikipedia and this page is yet to be updated still. I will further insert reference links.

Update on Photoshop
My photos were edited with Photoshop CS5. As such, I have attempted some HDRI as my main photo. However due to my lack of skill, I have decided to discard the HDRI photo instead. However, the product would have looked something like this.
So, eventually I decided to use unedited photos instead.

Update on Flash
I have spent most of my time on Flash and Dreamweaver apparently. Basically what I've come up with was the coding for a simple slideshow with buttons. The initial tutorial found online was almost helpful except some minor adjustments to the code itself.
I will now briefly show the steps made for the slideshow.

Let's begin with a simple black base as the background. As you can see, I've made 4 layers for this part. 1st being the Actions, followed by Base, Images, Buttons and Text, respectively.
Next I've inserted an image. Be sure to make all the images the same size and have them on the same exact location for every frame. Same goes for the text that I've done. Adjustments were made for the text to be exactly in the center.
Almost done. I've finally inserted a triangular button of the same size. How I achieve this was to create one button and copy it on the other side then use Free Transform and have it rotate 180 degrees.
Finally, the most annoying part which is the coding. This code was actually taken from a video tutorial on Youtube by RiverCityGraphix. However, the code needed a bit of modification which I got by experimenting and taking some parts from the online notes in MMLS. Total process took me at least 10 hours in experimenting on the code.

Update on Dreamweaver.
As for my major part in the website, I intended it to be simple. As I was closely working with one of my other groupmates, both of us decided to use the same design. And therefore, we managed to create a similar template. As such, I only used the template created by her.
The template was pre made by my group member and we decided to use the same template.
I split the cells for the editable region in this template and fit in the images accordingly. The text was previously typed after doing the research by me on a notepad and was copy pasted on into the split cells.
Finally, I insert the Flash. Start by clicking on Insert>media>SWF. From there, I browse my previously made Flash Slideshow and embedded it into the website.
The end product was such with the flash slideshow embedded into the website and all the parts were written down. However due to the lack of information, I decided not to create multiple links and only create a single webpage linked to all the other webpages in this website.

Update on Means of Communication
I will briefly describe on how we held our meetings. To be honest, there weren't any meetings. Our main mean of communication was to create a group on Facebook and turn it similar to a forum discussion board. Our main purpose of having such a discussion board is that we can avoid unnecessary meetings that might ended up taking a lot of time and ended up not being productive. As such, we decide to make every meeting flexible for every one of our members so, the group was set up as our main means of communication.
Here is a screenshot of how we usually contact each other.
Sharing files were done via an FTP. We rely heavily on Mediafire to transfer files to each other. We'd usually upload files on Mediafire and then post the link up on the Facebook group to share among each other. image sharing were done usually by uploading photos up on the group so every one can view it and download it easily.
